Update August 2019: In the comments below, Jason says you need to append the authentication code sent to you to the end of the password. Seems like they may not play nicely together if you have 2FA turned on. I don’t upload my family tree to Ancestry, but like being able to search for a person’s details on Ancestry via the web search area in FTM. I disabled 2FA on my account, and was then able to successfully connect my FTM software to. At the end of the day, using WordPress or one of the alternatives I suggested above really depends on what you want to achieve, and what experience you want to get out of the process. Because I don’t have my tree linked with, that’s not an issue for me, though it may be for others who do. You can rename it if you want, or just keep it as-is. Copy and paste the WordPress folder into the root folder. Next, open up the root folder you designated when setting up MAMP. I don’t connect to Ancestry via FTM anymore, finding it much easier to search directly from the website. Unzip the downloaded file, and find the WordPress folder inside.
